Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is a promising wireless technology for numerous applications, e.g. broadband home networking, enterprise networking, metropolitan area networks, building automation and intelligence transportation systems etc. It has becoming a research hotspot for the next generation wireless networks.Based on the characteristics of WMNs, the routing selection strategies adopted to maximize the network throughput has become a key issue of WMNs. Based on the analysis of existing WMNs'routing algorithm, a new routing metric is proposed which integrates the consideration of the hop counts, qualities of channel, the inevitable and potential multi-channel interference among links. It is demonstrated in the simulation that the algorithm can improve the network throughput greatly. |
