With the progress of the informatization, interfusion between communication technology and computer network technique produced a new research field, which is called Computer Supported Cooperative Work(CSCW for short). It is an inevitable fruit of the development of informatization. The occurrence of CSCW not only greatly improved working efficiency, promoted the development of productivity, but also deeply influenced the production method, working style and life style of people. As the basis of the CSCW, comuter network technique is developing at full speed recently. As a consequence CSCW-based systematical working software has been arisen.A network communication system needed by CSCW is put up, using standard H.323 protocol, which is one of ITU multimedia communication series. And a multipoint video conference system are created. The system establishes the reliable link between terminal and server, completes H245 control functions such like capabilities exchange, master slave determination and creating logical channel, and goes forward to transferring multimedia over logical channel using RTP/RTCP protocol. What's more, for the sake of saving band of network, the system compresses multimedia transferred using codecs such like G.711 and H.263, which assures the system compatible with the unstable network and the fluency of conference.In order to make participator melt to conference, the system creates virtual conference using Direct3D, which gives people be personally on the scene. In addition, by means of filter technology of DirectShow, the system embeds picture of video into the virtual space to simulate the multiconference. The technology make use of multi-thread technology to make multimedia transferring independent to virtual space, with little influence on any of them.The experimental results illustrate that the Digital Office system in this paper can work in order in Local Area Network. Multimedia transferring is as fluent as CSCW required. Multipoint virtual conference can also work in order while communication goes on. The embedding of video and audio is smooth enough. Therefore the Digital Office is application valuable and can be applied to verious environments, such like remote education.
