GIS Application Study In The Information Management Of The Municipal Pipe Network

As the important infrastructure of a city, the Municipal Pipe Network that constitutes"lifeline"of the city lays material foundation for the city to exist and develop. The information management of the Municipal Pipe Network is an important content in the urban planning.Without integrated and accurate information about underground pipeline, one will be like a"the blind person hardly to lift each foot"or even cause great losses in urban planning, designing, constructing and management. Along with the enlargement of the city and modernized degree improved day by day, the Municipal Net Pipeline is becoming more and more intensive, complicated and upgraded more and more frequently. However, as various kinds of reason of history and reality, urban underground pipeline in our country is still lag behind development and international level. Its confused and unordered state has already become the bottlenecks of urban construction and even national economic development of our country. It is very difficult to query, statistics and analyze various kinds of scale figure and historical datum with traditional management method. Because all kinds of statistical report form, scheme picture, thematic picture of the administrative department are calculated and completed by hand basically, it is very hard to meet the needs of fast-developing magnanimity data management and cause low efficiency of management, great large workload of upgrading information, the mass of manpower, material resources and resource are wasted beyond measure. We should raise working efficiency, economic benefits, management level and service quality, make the planning and construction of the city march toward the modernization.
