The Design And Realization Of WEB-Based Equipment Information Management System

The paper is written about an online web-based system of equipment information management in hospital based on the Browser/Server structure. The system managed the database through the combination of ASP and ADO. The system was composed of hardware and software. Hardware: The system is connected to HIS (Hospital Information System) through a server. The server equipped two network cards. One was connected to the HIS, the other was connected to the internet by ADSL. Software: The operating system was Windows Server 2000, constructing Web Server. The software included Frontpage, Access, Adobe Acrobat, etc. The programming language was ASP. It visited the database by ADO. The system was 3 layers structure.The function of system is composed of six subjects.1. Searching informationThe system can display all kinds of equipments information. It can also display equipments information and give report forms according to the equipment name, type, position, date, etc.2. Repairing and maintainingThe system can display all maintaining information according to the equipment name, administrator and date. It also gives the link to the website of the company of the equipment.3. Equipments documentAuthorized user can seek the equipment documents according to the equipment name. The examining and approving form, contract, check report and operation manual of the equipment can be display accordingly.4. Analyzing equipments incomeThe system can display the equipments income according the month and year. It can also analyze the equipments income, using efficiency and total efficiency and show them through figures.5. Dsplaying the discarding equipment informationThe system can display the discarding equipment information according the year.6. The information feedbackThe system can accept the users' and engineers' information and feed them back to the manager.What 1 mainly do is the following.1. The establish of Access databaseAccess is a powerful relationship database system. It has good transplantation, and can satisfy with the equipment information management. The thesis introduced the method and process of the database, the design of the tables, the setting of the fields attribute, the relationship of the tables, the design of query, report form and data accessing page.2. Using the ActiveX Data Objects(ADO) and ASP to manage databaseThe VBscript can not deal with the Access data base directly. It can connect and operate the Access database expediently through ADO.We can get the interactivity web and the program interface about relation of the logical layer in the use of the ASP. And the function of search, add ,update, delete are also based on the ASP embedded in SQL.3. Using Frontpage to establish the web pagesFrontpage is an excellent edit weapon of web pages. It has the ability of managing database and supporting the new Web techniques.The Web pages has seven subjects, such as homepage, searching information page, repairing and maintaining page, equipments document page, analyzing equipments income page, displaying discarding equipment page and information feedback page.Using the system, the user can get enough information to decide the equipment which is to be purchased. It can contribute to improve serving quantity. The system has wide application and practical value.
