The system of self-taught examination had already been founded for more than20 years. This system has built and trained large quantities of outstanding talents forthe construction of our country. The practice has proved that self-taught examinationsystem accords with of our country national conditions and it is the effective form ofuniversal educate for developing countries. However, there are very great differencesbetween this system and traditional school education after all. In the course of itsdevelopment, there are not too much advanced experience that can be drawn lessonsfrom, the thought of system management is lacked and a lot of important resources donot get effective use at the same time.During the course of its development, the system of self-taught examination hasaccumulated a large number of data. These data are exactly a kind of importantresources, which reflect the success or failure of various fields about self-taughtexamination. Because of various fields about the management thought, science andtechnology and so on, the deep and high level applications of these data have notlaunch yet, which make the use of these data resources insufficient.As the new developing data analysis thought in the world, data mining can findvarious kinds of knowledge that people are interested in the numerous andcomplicated data. It can not only find the apparent phenomenon, but also mine theindirect, hidden, inside connections. And this knowledge hidden among the data cansupport the development of the self-taught examination greatly.This text puts forward the scheme of utilizing data resources deep in theself-taught examination system combining thought and method of data mining and thetechnology of data warehouse and OLAP. Using such scheme, the administrator canfind the specialty and course knowledge including the relevant degree about specialtyand course and the specialty development trend and grade analyzing knowledgeincluding grade data cube analyzing and processing and the proposition levelappraising. Through this scheme, it is hoped that the administrator can set up thethought of decision support and data mining to promote the self-taught examinationundertaking to develop scientifically at a high speed.
