| Nowadays, PDA has been widely used in different areas, because of many advantages, including carrying easily, friendly GUI, using conveniently, and wireless network transferring. Especially, with the rapid development of the outstanding technology based on Embedded Operating System and Internet, Web Camera based on PDA and network technology must be a good application in the future. In this case, a Web Camera System based on Embedded Linux Operating System and Ethernet has been put forward in this thesis.This project has basically implemented a Web Camera System based on Embedded Linux Operating System (OS). The main function of the system is to capture pictures with a camera and display them on the LCD of PXA255 platform, which was afforded by Intel with the XScale architecture technology, and the pictures also can be transferred to the remote host through the Internet and displayed on it.There are seven chapters in this thesis. The first chapter is about the introductions of Web Camera System, Intel Personal Internet Client Architecture and Embedded OS. The second chapter is about the process of software development on Embedded Linux OS, including how to use gcc compiler and build Makefile.Then, we introduce the essential mechanism of QT programming and Meta Object Compiler. The hardware including USB camera and SITSANG platform related with the project are analyzed briefly in the fourth chapter. In the following two chapters, the mouse control of PDA based on ADXL202E and FTP transferring application program on Qt GUI are designed. In the last chapter, the whole Web Camera System has been integrated and tested. We also explain how to transplant the Embedded Linux OS to the PXA255 platform, rebuild the kernel file, custom the file system, update Qt and Qtopia GUI, add the function of USB mouse, ADXL202E mouse, the displaying application and FtpClient to the PXA255 platform. Finally the experiment results have been analyzed and the research trend has been mentioned. |
