The Remote Monitoring System Based On ARM-uClinux

Connecting embedded system to Internet will be the development trend of embedded system in the future. So, applying the embedded Internet technology into remote monitoring field based on ARM embedded system will advance the development of embedded system and monitoring field.In order to achieve the connection of embedded system and Internet, this paper uses the embedded technology of 32 bit MPU and embedded operation, setting it to application of remote temperature monitoring from software and hardware design. The hardware platform is composed of CPU and perighery devices. The CPU is S3C44B0X MPU with the core of ARM7TDMI, and the perighery devices comprise Flash, SDRAM, RTL8019AS, ADC, etc. The software includes transplanting the uClinux and Bootloader into the hardware, the development of RTL8019AS, ADC and RTC drivers, and applications such as embedded Web server, CGI, embedded SMTP client and so on. The RTL8019AS driver enable the embedded system to connect with Internet independently. It could control the devices and sampling data by ADC and RTC drivers. The system makes response to all kinds of monitoring commands from remote client such as transferring the sampling data, modifying device parameters, starting SMTP client to send E-mail, etc. through inserting CGI program in the Web server to access other applications.This paper has a detailed introduction about the method of achieving the embedded sytem connecting with Internet and its remote monitoring interface through Web technology based on the requirement of remote monitoring application. In all, the achievement of the embedded Internet technology meets the special demands of embedded system development, and it is significant for the progress and extension of monitoring field.
