Sensor network, which is made by the convergence ofsensor ,micro-electro-mechanism system and networks technologies,is a noveltechnology about acquiring and processing information. Wireless sensor network is anew area of computer science and technology ,It is receiving increasing attentionfrom all lines due to its wide application future. There are various kinds ofapplication-specific routing protocols devised for wireless sensor networks byresearchers around the world.Wireless sensor networks acquire energy depending on batteries ,so how to prolongthe networks' lifetime is the first question we should consider because of the limitedbatteries. The main contributions of this dissertation are in the area of clustering, routing andnetworks'lifetime. After analyzing the virtue and the disadvantage about routingprotocol whose cluster-heads are stochastically selected,a new energy-consideredcluster-head selection algorithm was put forword, the algorithm consided theremaining energy level of a node and reduced the threshold to become thecluster-head.On the base of algorithm analyzing,a simulating program which used the enhancingalgorithm was developed with Delphi under the principle of structural design.Thecodes were divided into several modules by the experimentation condition. So that itwas convenient to debug and consummate them in the future. At the end,a series of experiments were conducted to validate our enhancingalgorithm.By comparising with the stochastically cluster-head selection algorithm, therouting protocol which using the enhancing algorithm can greatly save the energyconsumed in the cluster and prolong the wireless sensor network's lifetime.
