Embedded system is an application-oriented special computer system, which isscalable on both software and hardware. It can satisfy the strict requirement offunctionality, reliability, cost, volume, and power consumption of the particularapplication. Bluetooth is a wireless communication technology with low powerdissipation and close quarters. As an open standard for wireless data and voicecommunication, Bluetooth's goal is to substitute for the wires of existing devices suchas PC, printer, mobile phone and so on.Research of Bluetooth Protocol Based on Embedded Linux is a project supportedby the Foundation on Nature and Science of Tianjin S&C. The project is mainly aboutthe development of bluetooth protocol stack according to the Bluetooth ProtocolSpecifications and a hardware platform to perform this protocol stack. The projectmakes use of advantages not only of embedded system but also of bluetoothtechnology. As a part of Research of Bluetooth Protocol Based on Embedded Linux project, the jobs described in this paper are focused on the development of an embeddedhardware system and the plantation of OS and bluetooth protocol stack. Our purposeis to build an intact ARM platform and provide a full development environment;helpthe developers can be absorbed in advanced bluetooth applied developments. Theplatform may bring advantages of reducing the development cycle and cost of appliedsystem of bluetooth and avoiding the repeating labours.ARMBT is an embedded bluetooth system, which is, satisfied the requirementsof the project. The project has already passed the checkup by experts who areorganized by Tianjin Science Committee.
