The Design And Realization Of Computer Course Paperless Network Examination System

With the development and popularization of computers and network technology, the paperless examination, as an advanced one, has come to be applied and spread in different fields of the society - it will be a new way for the reforming and developing of the examination method since it can improve the level of automation and management in the examination and official business, reduce the cost, improve the working efficiency, promote the standardization of teaching and examination and make the examination more efficient, fair and rational. To adapt to the development, we developed the paperless network examination system for computer grade examination of Sichuan vocational and technical colleges.Nowadays, there are various ways to realize computer paperless network examination system and also exist some software of commercial examinations, but these are not suitable for computer foundation course examination of vocational colleges. Most of the software is just a combination of theoretical and "simulate practical" tests in computers, which was "moved" from paper examination. It can not provide the examinees with computer manipulating test under the "real environment Windows" and fail to meet the requirements of the colleges. According to the features of vocational education and the computer network of most colleges, we developed the foundation course examination system based on two layers ofnetwork structure, C/S after continuous researches.The system not only give attention to the examination center, examination school and the students, but also joined to the paper examination system perfectly. Three subsystem build the whole system. The examination center use the examination system vision examination center, which is used to manage the score of the examinees and print the certificates; the examination school use the examination system version, which is used for organization of examination, such as examinee arrangement, examinee information collection, printing score and etc. Examinees use the student examination system in network room, which is used for handing out tests, examination, test paper collection and automation grading.As a project sponsored by Education Office of Sichuan province natural science foundation and Chengdu Aeronautic Vocational and Technical College, the successful development of the system indicates that our examination technology level entered the front row among application technology. The paperless network examination system has a complete function, stable framework and easy manipulation. The system not only save the cost, but also improve the level of standardization, thus protecting the authority and reliability of the examination to the full. Since the system has been tried out over one year, more than 140,000 examinees from over 120 vocational and technical colleges have taken the examination. The running effect is good, which reaches the requirements and expectation of the system-designing.VB6.0, VBA ,ACCESS2002 are the programmable tools and Database develop products of Microsoft Company. They are main tools to develop the projects.The paper describes the process of developing the paperless network examination system which includes conceivation, demanding analysis, design and realization of the system. And meanwhile it analyzes the security and strategy of the network system. It lists some kernel programs as well. At last the paper introduces the test, appliance, promotion, and effects of the examination system.
