Design And Implementation Of Paperless Examination System

With the development of internet and the wide-spread use of network in universities, the demand for the examination on network is urgent. But there are some limitations, such as commonality and expansibility, in the present paperless examination system.Based on the systematic analysis and realistic situation of universities, this paper shows the architecture of paperless examination system which is used by network and different subjects can be examined. It designs in detail and implements the according function of online examination.Firstly, based on the analysis of use case, the paper demonstrates the system of classification functions of the six subsystems,such as the management of examination,paper database, paper reformation and paper grading, online examination and paper analysis. And it showed the analysis of general architecture of the paperless examination system. The mixture development module based on three layers C/S and B/S, and general architecture and database module are designed in the paperless examination system.Secondly, the paper shows the analyzes of use case and designed processing of online examination subsystem in detail. The subsystem includes two sections of frontstage and backstage, which is used for login, selection exam courses, online answers and automatic counting time in frontstage section,and examinee and examination information, checking marks for objective items and managements of exam state in backstage section for teachers. B/S development modules and layers structures are adopted in the online examination subsystem, based on Java EE,which classifies representation layer, WEB layer, logic layer, DAO layer and data layer and utilizes Java EE framework technology, that is "struts+spring+hibernate",and codes in the subsystem.Finally, the system has been already utilized in our university for half aest-run for half a year. The feasibility and validity of the system have been accordance with the design requirements.
