Since ancient times, the examinations are important means to measure a person's ability and screening personnel, it is an important part of the teaching process. There are two purposes of examinations, one is to test students' mastery of the knowledge, and another is to provide the basis for teachers teaching analysis. Traditional exam requires experienced organizational manpower of the volume, the papers printed, the examination room arrangements, supervision and examination, by hand or machine scoring, the process of statistical results and analysis results. In the same time of the volume and the process of printing papers need to prevent leakage. During the test to prevent students from cheating. Teachers subjective factors are also mixed with the manual scoring. The process of this series will waste a lot of manpower and material resources as well as financial resources.Design and development of this paperless examination system based on B / S mode. It is running on the Windows 7 operating system, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as a development tool, ASP.NET as the core technology. It is using C# as main program design and development language, SQL Server 2010 as the back-end database support and more popular B/S mode and three-tier technology for the design and implementation of the entire system. The system consists of two parts and the three main modules, two major parts are e front exam section and back officemanagement section, three modules are respectively the administrator module, student module and teacher module. Two parts and three modules achieve user login, user registration, exam candidates, professional management, user management, paper management, and the final result inquiry function. The design process of the system depends mainly on theoretical knowledge of software engineering, and software engineering theory throughout the entire process of the system design and development, user needs analysis, the overall design of the system, database design, detailed design and testing process are described in detail in the paper. Run and test results prove the feasibility and practicality of the system, the system can be set up and entered various exam, saving teachers designing and marking time, the system improves work efficiency, but also reduces the cost of printing papers, and at the same time, the system interface is simple and clear, easy to operate and maintain.In this paper, the design of three-tier structure of WEB-based online examination system for the online exam with the Department of Construction has guiding significance in theory and practical application value.
