High speed and ultrahigh power semiconductor switch RSD (Reversely Switched Dynistor) has characteristics of great current, high di/dt and speed, low power loss, long lifetime and high repetitive rate, easily used in series and parallel connection etc, and it is one of perfect switches of pulsed power systems. In order to avoid RSD abnormal turn-on which leads to spoil, in this thesis, based on the turn-on mechanism and condition, we derive the formula to calculated charge amount supplied by the direct type and oscillating type pre-charge circuits which can be decomposed into familiar circuit models. To get the pulse that needed, the design technique for damp circuit and the way to induce the stray inductance and capacitance are analyzed. The results of test to verify the reasonableness of circuit's parameters are also analyzed. Magnetic switch is employed as the separator between the main circuit and trigger circuit, and it works well though a saturable inductor is introduced. To know the character of magnetic switch and to use it correctly, the basic theory of it is presented. We also calculated the product of the number of turns, the cross-sectional area and the total magnetic flux density swing of the core based on which we can chose the trigger circuit parameters. And we also find why the current delays before reverse in lacking damped circuit by theory and test analysis. Based on the perfect switching characteristics, RSD shows abroad application prospect in the pulse power field and should be found in markets as soon as possible. In the last part of this thesis, the flow of RSD pulse generator design and the electromotion force are presented, and a design example of high power pulse output is presented.
