To meet the real-time requirement of rolling-bearing's status monitoring, the paper puts forward a design of "WinCE-based embedded rolling bearing monitoring system". The paper includes three aspacts, the hardware selection, the operation system selection and customization, as well as the implementation of the application software.According to practical application requirement, the paper discuses the ability of computation, storage, the speed of storage, network function, display mode, appearance, and keyboard arrangement. Then the paper gives a kind of suitable hardware system integration. WinCE is adopted and cut down according to the hardware character and real-time requirement of monitoring system, as well as the effect of OS's graphic representation.Using the tool of eMbedded Visual C++ to develop the application of the system, the blocking structure design is adopted. Different modules are designed respectively, and are assembled to be one system. These modules include: Realtime Data Sampling, Realtime Data Analyzing, System Setup, Data Transport and Backup, Memory Manager, and Power Manager. Monitoring system analyzes the sample data, and provides a friendly interface to the system user.The WinCE-based monitoring system is used to monitor the state of rolling bearing, carring out the management rule of prevention. The system uses the technique of sensor, sampling date, data processing and spectrum analysis to analyse the running state of mechanism, suppling bases of equipement maintenance for the system users.Now the system archetype development is finished. The system functions normally, and each performance index is good as expected. The system has high ration of performance to price, and is worth disseminating in the rolling machinery.
