Integrated automation system of oil storages control technologies are being greatly improved unceasingly and newest control skills with the core of microcomputer comes into being gradually with the quick development of computer control techniques. Because of the quick development of microprocessor techniques and all kinds of field-buses, distributed control skills applied in microcomputer control system are becoming possible. However, the traditional way that using PCI board or ISA board implements the data transmission between the CAN (Controller Area Network) bus and computer is difficult for the development of integrated automation control system of oil storages due to its limitation.Therefore, this paper mostly design a communication module with USB (Universal Serial Bus) and CAN interface to communicate between the computer and CAN bus to improve integrated automation system of oil storages control technologies. The applications of the module achieve "clear" communication in dual-direction. The model can be considered as a USB device connect to PC and also can be considered as a CAN note which has rich function by seeing from the difference direction. Because of the currency of this software and hardware, it is extended to the other control systems based CAN bus.
