The rapid development of information technology has greatly accelerated the course of modernization and informatization of manufacturing enterprises. The manufacturing industry informatization has become a global development trend. The management digitalization represented by the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is the important embodiment of the characteristics of manufacturing industry informatization technology, and also is the important aspect of our country's manufacturing industry informatization engineering. Through research of the ERP implementation of Shanghai Huili Group, and starting from the angle of actual application, this thesis sets forth the design idea of directly embedding the flow control, monitoring systems into the ERP system, thus forming a complete Manufacturing Execution System(MES), and enabling the enterprise to be able to more effectively control and organize production, and approach to real-time response. In line of this design idea, this thesis introduces the design of wireless lathe monitoring system for ERP.This system realizes the sampling of the running state of workshop-equipment, and through a wireless mode, the data is transmitted to the receiving equipment, after sorting out, through the RS-232 interface, is sent to the upper computer,then the upper computer logs the data in a real-time mode into the databank of the ERP system, finally the ERP's relevant modules realize the functions of equipment management, production plan optimization and power consuming data statistics, etc. The thesis presents a detailed discussion of and introduction to the system's overall design, data acquiring of the wireless lathe monitoring system, and the wireless lathe monitoring system's embedment into the ERP. Since the start of installation and operation in the subordinate factories of Shanghai Huili Group in February 2004, this system has been in a good stable state, the data is timely and accurate, the relevant modules have become the main modules of the ERP system. The enterprise users attach great importance to the system.
