The Web-based Network Management System

This thesis first discusses the fundamentality of Network Management System. Then it introduces the elementary theory and the core technology of the SNMP, covering the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Structure of Management Information (SMI), Management Information Base (MIB), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), the structure of Web-based NMS. And it discusses the realization of ExpNMS in detail, analyze two models, which are a model of topology's discovering and a model of monitoring device's performance. And presents a method of realizing topology map based on STP. Finally, it introduces the system with illustration.The major contribution of this thesis is its putting forward a solution that can be used in model design for Web-based NMS, and its method of constructing a tree-view topology map.
