As a new type of display technology, Laser-TV is becoming more and more competitive and will be dominant in the 21 century's display field. This dissertation aims at designing a set of standard video signal interface circuit which will help to promote the further research of Laser-TV. In this dissertation, the main clue is color image recurrence of Laser-TV which is analyzed and resolved using the theory of color space conversion. However this special research mainly includes decoding analog video signals, color space conversion and encoding digital video signals. According to the demand of current research of Laser-TV, the methods of encoding and decoding the standard video signals and the process of color space conversion are analyzed in detail. Further, an analysis on the successful experiments about the video interface such as analog video signal (CVBS signal), S-video(Y/C signal) and VGA signal is stressed. During the period of experiment, the selection of CMOS chip for the given function, the Printed Circuit Board(PCB) design about this circuit and the programmable logic design for matrix arithmetic in FPGA are all the most important. In this dissertation some valuable application notes are attached for the above experiments. Moreover, high-speed multiplication performing matrix arithmetic is designed. The color image recurrence technology of Laser-TV is involved with the concerned knowledge about color gamut and color space conversion, the optical and psychological characteristics and so on. So color gamut is narrated in the second chapter, Thereafter the main principle of Laser-TV color space conversion is demonstrated in detail in the next chapter. Moreover, the theory of color gamut and color space conversion is guidance of design. As researches is in the first phase, prospect is rendered in the last chapter.
