Accurately communicating and reproducing color information among different devices is an important subject for study. Due to the features of individual equipment, one image will be reproduced quite differently. The same problem came out when developing the business dry-printer dDP-421 in our company. To solve this problem, we realize the color management for this printer.Several color space conversion algorithms have been studied on, and polynomial regression algorithm and BP neural network algorithm are chosen for modeling, which proved to have good result. To deal with the different color gamut in the conversion, the gamut boundary of dDP-421 is acquired, and an algorithm combining space analytic geometry is used to realize the gamut mapping. Finally, color management for dDP-421 is realized though two color space conversion algorithms and gamut mapping. After analyzing the two systems by calculating the average chromatic aberration, BP neural network algorithm is proved to be more practically efficient.This thesis is of great application value to the business dry-printer dDP-421, and to the further research on communicating and reproducing the color information. It also provides a platform for researching the Color Management System meanwhile.
