| The development of multimedia data makes the database face with challenges in management. At present, although a lot of database can support multimedia data, there are many restrictions on operation of multimedia data. The methods of directly operation and maintenance on multimedia data are not existed in the SQL level. The multimedia database can not be inserted and updated directly. It is inconvenient for the user of database, especially for DBA. To solve the above problem, this thesis proposed a research task which operates on multimedia data directly in SQL level.For multimedia database of using object-relational model, this thesis respectively introduces the characteristics of multimedia data, the different management practices between multimedia data and traditional data, multimedia data environment supported by ORACLE database and the processing method of multimedia data under ORACLE interMedia Architecture. Then, ORDAudio, ORDImage, ORDVideo, ORDDoc object type are analyzed deeply. Through analyzing the DML framework in relational database, the BNF for unifying operation multimedia data and traditional data was designed. In addition, under the JAVA platform, this paper gives the grammatical analysis for expandable INSERT and UPDATE statement according to the definition of Backus Naur Form, and gives the concrete realization process for application. The result is that multimedia data can be operated as traditional data, it makes multimedia data operation in compatible DML into reality.According to research of multimedia data operation in SQL level, the consistency of operation method is realized in command line level, which is about structured data and unstructured data. This provides the way for the advanced users of database system while they maintain multimedia content, especially for DBA. The way that is powerful, efficiency and simple, meanwhile, as it avoids the direct operation for operating system files so that improve the data security. |
