The Research Of The Unified Data Storage And The Service For FMC

With the critical competition between telecom operators, the decline in customer satisfaction,Fixed-Mobile Convergence(FMC) again has become the focus of Telecommunica- tion industry. In the overall trend of FMC,how to achieve the One Number Multi-terminal and other converged FMC services based on unified user database is an important topic in the field.First of all, the research background and contents are outlined. Then, an introduction of IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS) which is the key technology in FMC is given, including IMS architecture, IMS protocol and the advantages of the implement of FMC in IMS.The unified user database, Home Subscriber Server(HSS) in IMS, is the entity containing user profile database to support the unified data storage in fixed and mobile network in which the user profile are stored independently currently. The paper has made an in-depth study of HSS. It describes the basic functionalities , reference points and the ralated protocol signaling. Then, based on the functionalities and reference points, the detailed scheme is designed to achieve the realization of the HSS in accordance with the requirement. Finally, the workflows of HSS are given based on the designed scheme.The One number Multi-terminal is implemented based on the unified user database.A comprehensive and profound reseach are given to this converged FMC service through a large number of signaling flow charts and a instance analysis.Finally, the functionalities analysis and detailed design about the Application Server(AS) and Media Gateway Function(MGCF) is given in order to achieve the One number Multi-terminal.
