At present, the developed European countries at auto industry have had effective test standards, test norms and inspection institutions of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) about automobile electronic components. But in china, the EMC test of automobile electronic components is still relatively undeveloped. Moreover, existing standards and norms are universal type. For RFID device that is popular in recent years, especially installed in car, the EMC test standards and norms of product family are still not issued at domestic and foreign.With the development of RFID technology, some researches about the EMC of RFID equipment have done. But the existing studies basically looked just at electromagnetic characteristics and testing of electromagnetic interference emissions when it worked in natural conditions. In order to test electromagnetic interference emission characteristics and electromagnetic susceptibility of the RFID device in complex electromagnetic environment in automobile, this paper proposes a set of EMC test plan of on-board RFID device, which is based on the on-board RFID device's EMC analysis. And the plan is discussed from some followed aspects: the determination of test projects, the selection and important process description of test methods and the evaluation of test results.Firstly, combining the working principle of RFID device, characteristics and coupling channels of electromagnetic interference and complex electromagnetic environment in which RFID device works, EMC of on-board RFID device is analyzed, and the EMC test items are determined according to the analysis.Then, to each testing project, test method is also determined by referring EMC test principle, following the requirements of EMC test standards and comparing the characteristics of various test methods. And according to test experience, this paper describes the test method from three aspects that are necessary test instruments, layouts of test instruments and equipments and crucial parts of the test method.Lastly, analyzing how to evaluate the effectiveness of test results and how to estimate whether testing of equipments under test is qualified, and then a set of evaluation system of EMC test is proposed to evaluate the test results of on-board RFID device. And the test uncertainty and test accuracy used in this system is analyzed and discussed in details. This paper also tests RF radiation electromagnetic field susceptibility of the passive entry/passive start (PEPS) system that is a typical on-board RFID device and evaluates the corresponding test result.The plan has been adopted by an EMC test institute and a relevant automotive company, and also has been applied to practical measure. This paper's reseaarches help relevant company not only to solve EMC test questions of the on-board RFID device, but also to draft enterprise standard or norm of EMC test of automotive electronic components. In addition, for formulating the EMC test standard of on-board RFID device, this paper's study can provide necessary reference data and information to domestic institutions.
