Along with the continuous renewal of media technology, the impact of medium to its audiences is becoming more and more extensive. However, the world that the audiences get to know via media is not the real world, it's a virtual world that's created by medium. Audiences'deepening reliance of media, and media's great expectations for big press event give rise to panic and some irrational reactions among audiences after Important Sporadic Events take place owing to the extensive news covered by medium. we need to understand the mechanism of media horror such to device tailored solution and reduce the chance of after-panic as a result of mass reporting to the public. The paper analyses and illustrates the concept of media panic in three different parts. First and foremost, it systematically explores the fundamental matters such as the concept, classifications and attributes of media panic. The second part of the paper analyses the reason of media panic from the theory, distribution mechanism and distribution elements. The paper then comes up with detailed solutions to media panic from five aspects based on Lass well's 5w theory, via, source, channel, information, carrier and feedback. The paper for the first time brings up concert classifications of media panic, categorizing its cause as: self-triggered, natural disaster, public crisis and moral hazard. It also breaks the conventional approach of media panic resolution which mainly targets receiver, media and government or society, and exercises control at the five specific stages of media panic and finally achieve panic eradication.
