With the progress of economic globalization, informationization becomes one of the main measures for manufacturing enterprises to enhance their competitiveness. Manufacturing execution system links the upper level planning system and the lower level controlling system as a bridge in the enterprise information system solution. The research on manufacturing execution system becomes one of the hottest subjects in the industrial automation area in recent years.The dynamic market requires manufacturing enterprises to be flexible and agile. A flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing execution system benefits a manufacturing enterprise with a reconfigurable production information system, so as to meet the requirements of business process changes and for continuous improvements.In this paper, a research on reconfigurable manufacturing execution system is promoted from the aspects of modeling and system implementation. The background of the research is the National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program) on reconfigurable manufacturing execution system for batch production. Based on the study of information system modeling systems and evaluation of mainstream modeling methods, a suit of process-driven information system modeling methods is proposed, which can agilely reflect the changes of the conceptual model to the reconfiguration of information system design through the object-oriented event-driven process chain.On the foundation of modeling with the process-driven information system modeling methods and designing under a standard framework for manufacturing execution system, a practical reconfigurable manufacturing execution system is developed and implemented.
