In recent years, safety problems receive the world wide public concern, and higher request was put forward for the reliability of the system and intelligent of the security system. Using millimeter wave to screening human body for security check can be clearly show hidden weapon and metal items which hidden in clothing, and the radiation dose on the human body is very small. The time for security check is short, meets the need of security requirements when used in the place where stream of people is large. This kind of method of security check won't offend people. Now the related products have been developed in foreign, but in China this area is still in the theoretical research stage. The purpose of this paper is screening the concealed metal objects in two dimensional used millimeter wave. The content of this paper mainly about is explained as follow.Experimental apparatus for the experiment which screening the sample use the millimeter wave which the mid-frequency is 35GHz are designed based on the principle of the active millimeter wave imaging. Design the data acquisition card based on the ARM demo board. Proposed the feasible plan for data acquisition. Each module is analyzed in detail, and hardware system was debugged successfully. The goal of data acquisition and data transport using USB interface is completed. And the software for millimeter wave imaging system is developed using VC++. This software can control XY table and the data acquisition and display the experiment results in the real-time. Complete the reasonable configuration of the experiment device. Using SolidWorks software development the virtual machine for rotation scanning the human body.Kinds of examples are scanned and imaged using the system introduced above. This paper proposed a kind of image processing method based on millimeter wave imaging characteristics using MATLAB image processing toolbox. Causes the target object can better separated from the background image.
