Drought and flood are two conventional forms of agricultural disaster, and a key index of drought and flood is area rainfall. It is of great significance for fighting agricultural disaster, river flood and flood storage to master the real-time area rainfall.By deeply researching and adopting GIS theory, regional stereo area rainfall generated by Delaunay triangle network interpolation is proposed; point rainfall, area rainfall and arbitrary isohyets can be obtained by converting point interpolation to plane bitmap color processing. At the meantime, the rainfall value can be revised by introducing regional GIS geomoghology information. The main research and innovation points are as following:1. The background and development of area rainfall at present in meteorological department is analyzed, and the problems we faced are pointed.2. Based on the present research situation home and abroad, several improvement suggestions like optimization of the generation method of Delaunay triangle network, optimization of LOP diagnoses, optimization of inserting points choosing are put forward and the feasibility and validity are verified by programs.3. OpenGL technology and its characristics and superiority are introduced; 3D area rainfall generation is realized by utilizing OpenGL, by converting the conventional area rainfall statistic method, which is point interpolation to bitmap color processing, and analyzing the pixel chromatic value in bitmap, arbitrary point rainfall and arbitrary isohyets on hyetograph can be easily obtained and realized by program.
