Research On The Analysis And Management System For Network Traffic Data

Tra?c measurement and tra?c analysis is the basic way to understand the network. Withthe rapid growth of network complexity, increacing demand on network measurement and networkanalysis gives rise to various measurement and analysis techniques. Thus, building a measurementsystem for tra?c measurement data aimed at adopting various results and sharing analysis results,becomes the ?rst need.Based on the existing works, a novel analysis and management framework capable of process-ing heterogeneous data is proposed in this paper, followed by an e?cient network tr?c analysissystem and network trace management system, both of which are built on top of the framework.Firstly, the metadata-centric network tra?c analysis and management framework is proposedbycombiningthefeaturesofthetra?cmonitoringsystemandthemeasurementdatarepository. Theframework provides various ways to access the database, together the ability to store and processheterogeneous tra?c measurement data.Secondly, based on sFlow tra?c sampling and Panabit tra?c classi?er, a tra?c analysis sys-tem capable of 10Gbps link analysis and per-IP-level application-layer analysis, is built on top theframework. Besides that, network users are devided into various"groups"according to their ISPsor locations, and tra?c matriex between groups are shown.Thirdly,thenetworktracemanagemnetandveri?cationsystemisdiscussed, whichisalsobuilton top of the framework. By deviding the trace into ?ows and storing only the metadata, the systemmanages to search each ?ow in the trace, without the requirement of increasing storage capacity.Finally, a brief summary is given, which concludes the research work and indicates the wayfor further research.
