In recent years, due to the increase of industrial and living pollutants near the Taihu lake, there was a serious cyanobacteria disaster, not only destroyed the water landscape, and led a destruction of ecological system imbalance, water biological massive death and water quality deterioration, seriously threatened the safety of drinking water, so the evolution process monitoring and the prevention of Taihu cyanobacteria is very important. This paper introduced a remote monitoring system for Taihu Lake cyanobacteria based on arm9 embedded system. The system collects the image of surface of Taihu Lake, and transmits the image to the environmental monitoring center through the GPRS network, for monitoring researchers to obtain and analyze the water quality conditions.There are two main parts: 1. The image acquisition terminal, it used S3C2440 as the core, through the embedded linux system realized the A/D conversion of input signal, digital image acquisition and wireless transmission and so on. 2. Intelligent monitoring platform, it receives and analyzes the received data, provides the real-time monitoring images and data to users in Web form, according to the user permissions level provided operating instructions, users visit and monitoring on the Web site, realized remote wireless image monitoring of Taihu Lake cyanobacteria.
