SINS / GPS integrated navigation is commonly used in car navigation mode, but the GPS signals are vulnerable to high-rise buildings, overpasses, culverts and tunnels and form a blind zone of GPS. Using map matching technology to aid vehicle navigation system position to overcome the blind zone of vehicle GPS positioning and low accuracy is the effective way. This paper carried out on the map matching technology research system and applied to car navigation systems. This article mainly includes the following:Firstly, analyzed the electronic map generation method and the road network database model, using MapInfo software generates a digital map of Harbin. Then, based on this map through the road network model to extract the electronic map information. Generated in favor of secondary navigation electronic map of the road network electronic map. Work for the following basis. Secondly, the paper presents a comprehensive map matching algorithm, through a variety of map-matching algorithm, presents a comprehensive map matching method. It combines an improved direct projection algorithm, and the algorithm based on topology and probability and statistics algorithms.These three methods will be combined into a comprehensive map matching algorithm on the road to more complex cross-sections, parallel roads, turning roads and others have good matching results.Thirdly, as to judge whether the road falls within the error ellipse area, need to implement a large number of prescribing and product operations, it is inconvenient for selected sections of t candidates.To overcome this drawback, error region can be defined as the rectangular area, the error rectangle computation is simple. Combinati- on mesh method can simplify the choice of candidate roads, vehicle tracks on the rapid delineation of the scope of the map matching can improve the reliability of real-time matching and it's also been guaranteed.Finally, the map matching algorithm is applied to car navigation systems, When GPS signals can be seen and can't be seen, for the two cases were given supplementary means of navigation electronic map. By mathematical simulation of the electronic map in the car navigation system, supporting the role of the verification, simulation results show that navigation methods to achieve high positioning accuracy. Approach to display the implementation of the navigation of visual effective, I developed the simulation and demonstration platform based on MAPINFO.
