Research On Development Of Embedded Electronic Map

As a base operation tool diposing spatial information, GIS(Geographic Information System) is widely used in domain of mapping,city layout, military affairs, goods circulating and so on.Since GIS deal with a lot of spatial information and the request of hardware is very high all along.It is usually used in PCs of super workstation and configue.In recent years, with the development of technology, GIS begins to move towards embedded equipment, such as PDA, cell-phone, roof box, etc. The equipment using GIS is called embedded GIS.The EM-GIS(Embedded Geographical Information System) is the combination of GIS(Geographical Information System) and the embedded system. It is the offshoot and extension, the makeup and development of the traditional GIS. With the sustain of hardware platform, many kinds of operation system, the application of GPS (Global Position System) and the technique of mobile interconnection, the EM-GIS has been applied into the economic construction and the modern national defence. Study on the Embedded-GIS is a hotspot. It is important to focus on the EM-GIS, develop correlative techniques and come into being copyright of ourselves.In most of the applications, the storage of the embedded equipment is still precious, and most of them require Real-time management. This paper focuses on several aspects of the EM-GIS, which include: (l)The structure of the EM-GIS, particularly analyzes and designs the data structure of the electric map for VNS(Vehicle Navigation System) and model,studes the mapinfo format data of map application in EM,the structure of Vehicle Terminal System;(2)The route planning module implements an algorithm of optimal route plan fulfilling the rules of transportation after analyzing the algorithm of Dijkstra and A~*.Base on above research, embedded GIS module was designed and developed, application have been done with dagushan. Results were satisfied.In the end, there is a brief introduce of system main functions. After summing up paper content, the paper points out the prospects of following work in the future.
