Channel coding is an indispensable component of the wireless communication system, while the outstanding performance of the Turbo code in correcting is very famous to the communications industry. 1994, P. Ryndiah had proposed a Turbo code decoding method which is similar to the soft input soft output (SISO) iterative decoding algorithm, and applied to the product codes, known as the Turbo product code (TPC). Turbo product code is a highly efficient error correction coding, has excellent anti-jamming and anti-fading characteristics, and because using a linear block code as its sub-code, its decoding complexity is much lower than the Turbo code, suitable for the application in high-speed communication systems, with better progressive performance. In recent years, Turbo Product Code is more widely used in kinds of communication systems.TPC is a very promising channel coding.Firstly, discussed the basic theory of the TPC decoding,such as the the principle of the best receiver,the maximum likelihood decoding and the soft-decision decoding theory, etc..And then according to the characteristics of TPC, discussed the Chase decoding algorithm as the core principle of the TPC codes,reduced the complexity of the TPC codes.And also according to iterative decoding method of the TPC decoding,discussed the code type and number of iterations.Finally, based on the Matlab simulation of the TPC decoding algorithm, designing the TPC encoder and decoder in the FPGA. For using top-down design method, the system is divided into many small modules, making the system design more flexible. When the design is complete, make the simulation in EP3C120F780C8 integrated. Turbo Product Codes in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel, the decoder complexity is low, when SNR is low, remain has a good decoding performance. This design system in the case of 1Mbps the code rate can achieve real-time decoding, compared to the foreign forming decoding chip, this design got more convenient and flexible.
