The technology of wireless communication is becoming more and more mature. And after the raising of the"blue tooth", the relationship between multimedia and wireless communication is getting closer. As a result, to develop an audio compression algorithm for wireless application would be useful.This dissertation designed an audio compression algorithm for wireless application and it can meet the needs for wireless communication: low delay, high compression rate and high tone quality. Also it would be realized and verified on embed system.This dissertation would firstly introduce the changes that would come with the wireless communication technology and relative knowledge about the embed system. Then something useful about digital audio and psychoacoustics would be introduced, and followed by some famous compression skills. Then the most important: designing of the algorithm, realization and optimization of it on embed system. And the algorithm is based on the sub-band coding theory and is created on base of the SBC algorithm with its 16 sub-band coding technology. The algorithm is realized and optimized on a 32 bit MCU CK-A5102.Our algorithm has already implemented on current wireless audio system and work well on it.
