The method of planning, scheduling and inventory controlling are becoming more and more important for the automotive industry. However, previous studies have directed mostly at the single workshop, which have many drawbacks for the motor industry with multi-shop. So this paper studied the welding workshop and stamping workshop integrated control system and the strategy of stamping parts inventory control based on the motor industry.After analyzing the characteristics and the operation procedure of welding workshop and stamping workshop, the paper established the key technologies for increasing productivity & reducing business costs oriented the automotive manufacture, which are establishing integrated control system for welding & stamping workshop and designing the strategy of stamping parts inventory control.The paper fully studied the two key technologies and proposed solutions individually. For the stamping parts inventory, the fuzzy inventory model is proposed with the fuzzy lead-time, fuzzy demand and fuzzy carrying costs. The imprecise parameters are first transformed into corresponding interval numbers and then following the interval mathematics, the objective function for average cost is changed into respective multi-objective functions. These functions are minimized and solved by interactive fuzzy decision-making procedure. This process leads to man–machine interaction for optimum and appropriate decision acceptable to the decision maker's firm. For the welding & tamping workshop, the integrated control system is proposed with three key parts: welding materials controller, stamping production plan operator and stamping parts inventory controller. This system accomplishes the integrated manage of planning, scheduling and inventory controlling.Finally, the paper exhibits the integrated control system for welding & tamping workshop, which is partly used in one automotive company and yield good results. Of course, the further research and exploration are desired to perfect the system and apply it in production successfully. Finally, the paper submitted proposes for it.
