As the economy develops rapidly, the information technology also changes fast. The barcode recognition which plays an important role in automatic identification technology is going from one-dimensional code recognition to two-dimensional code recognition. Two-dimensional code has been widely used in many areas. Besides the advantages of general two-dimensional barcode, QR code can be read and decoded quickly and fully. It also can be used to express Chinese character by efficient data model. These make QR code very suitable for the application in China. With the spread of application, two-dimensional barcode recognition equipment trends to be micromation, intelligent and networking. Two-dimensional code recognition research has become very important. So the research on QR code recognition based on embedded image acquisition and processing system has very important practical significance.The main task is studing the QR code recognition based on the embedded system:1. Design embedded image processing system which is based on FPGA and DSP and complete circuit board design, manufacture and commissioning.2. Design the underlying software drivers and interface programs, including FPGA-based CMOS drivers and data acquisition software, and RS232 serial communication interface software.3. Design the decoding sowftware which is cayyied out in DSP.It includes image preprocessing and decoding.To facilitate subsequent decoding and improve decoding accuracy,Image preprocessing was designed including image filter, threshold, edge detection, Hough transform and image correction. Decoding is the reverse process of encoding, so the software of decoding part is based on coding theory.4. Design of the camera frame, select the camera, set up the experimental platform for image acquisition and decoding experiments. The results of the experiment shows that the system can correctly and well achieve the image acquisition and decoding.At the end evaluated the system and put forward feasible measures for system improvement.
