With the gradual change of human society from the industrial economy to knowledge economy, knowledge has become more and more important in society, and is gradually becoming the most active part in the productive elements, and also becomes the most competitive performance in the enterprises. In the manufacturing field, due to the complexity and diversity of the process knowledge, the problems of the knowledge sharing and lower precision rate and recall rate in knowledge retrieval are raised. Therefore, the idea of unstructured process knowledge management system based on ontology and word segmentation technique is studied to solve these problems.Firstly, the research status and issues that existed in the unstructured process knowledge management system are analyzed. According to the requirements of unstructured process knowledge management, the framework and processes of unstructured process knowledge management system based on ontology and word segmentation technique are given; and, the components of the framework and processes are described in detail.Further more, the key techniques of the system including unstructured process knowledge ontology construction based on word segmentation technique and its retrieval based on ontology matching technique are deeply researched. According to word segmentation technique, the terminologies are extracted from unstructured process knowledge documents by using domain dictionary, and the processes of process knowledge ontology construction are completed by automatically anglicizing the domain terminologies, the algorithm of unstructured process knowledge ontology construction is designed. According to user profile, the user's search request is converted to search condition ontology by pretreatment, the algorithm of unstructured process knowledge ontology matching is designed, the semantic process knowledge retrieval is achieved, and personalized retrieval feature is reflected by filtering retrieval results comparing to user profile.Finally, the system is initially realized and applied to the Sino-German International Cooperation project. The application result shows that: the problems of sharing and reuse of unstructured knowledge in the enterprises can be solved effectively by using unstructured process knowledge management system based on ontology and word segmentation technique, and the use efficiency of unstructured process knowledge is improved.
