Accompany with high-speed propulsion of modernization and rapid improvement of people's living standard, Residences gradually develop toward wealthy direction, The visual-speaking system is a set of modern residential area service measures, It can make the visitors and residents mutual recognition between speech and video, increasing the safety reliability and serving the people. The traditional talkback system generally uses analog video transmission technique, mainly including communication technology of microcontroller and bus system. It need to install independent video channel image transmission, so the quality of transmission is not clear. As network technology and the rapid development of digital technology, it is inclined to digital video transmission technique and IP networking mode in order to achieve better effect of stability and practicability.The main jobs of this paper are as follows:(1) The overall structure of ARM9 (S3C2440) and the rich resources of processor are systematically analyzed. The basic theory of Linux operating system is expounded and the operating methods of multi-process, multithreading are research. Base on the ARM and Linux operating system theory, the basic scheme of system design is proposed and the design ideas and process accord with the actual are given.(2) The system hardware circuit is designed and some basic module circuit such as the system power supply circuit reset circuit,FLASH storage circuit,USB video acquisition circuit,voice communication circuit,network transmission circuit and color screen display circuit are given. Design the printed circuit board (PCB) of system and give the PCB layout and wiring of the device. Use the knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility and signal integrity analysis in actual design in order to eliminate electromagnetic interference on the circuit board.(3) Expound the system software, including several modules such as video collection,voice communication,network transmission data and color screen display. The real figure is given and it applies in actual life, laying the foundation of intelligent household for the future.(4) The debugging ang testing of system is completed. The performance of system achieves the original design requirement. The paper gives the product physical diagram, At present the product has entered the user trial stage.
