With the development of scientific and technological and the increasing level of human life, monitoring technology has been going forward continuously, from analog video surveillance at the beginning to the network of video surveillance at the current. The development of monitoring technology relies on the promotion of digital technology, network technology and electronics technology. Video surveillance is increasingly applied in all fields of social life. With the higher and higher requirements on the function of video surveillance, video surveillance technology is showing a feature of network and intelligence. It can provide the most efficient, convenient and real-time monitoring technology.According to the actual needs, this paper designs a network video surveillance system Based on ARM9. At first, I learned a large number of literature references, I learn about the development process of video surveillance technology, the current development status and future trends. I learned the related technology development from the development of video surveillance, especially in embedded processor applications, that greatly promoted the development of network video surveillance technology. After a comprehensive analysis of this design, I select the S3C2440A embedded microprocessor. There are video capture, compression, network transmission, the terminal display, service program development and other functional modules in the system. Embedded systems is used the Linux operating system. In the application design of the video surveillance system, this design uses a multi-threading technology to realize the real-time system. JPEG compression algorithm is used in the image compression design. This article uses the TCP / IP protocol, socket technology is used to realize the network traffic between hosts. The paper designs the network video surveillance system based on the C / S mode and the B / S model. In this paper, the design realizes the complementary advantages of the time-domain frame-difference method and the background differential method based on the traditional detection algorithm, it shows that the method is good to meet the system requirements.
