This paper is based on the research and design of home intelligent medical terminal. With the establishment of health care community and the growing popularity of computer networks, home intelligent medical device has broad prospect.From the perspective of how to design and implete the overall function of the home intelligent medical terminal, the paper study two functions of the medical terminal:one is the physiological parameter acquisition system, which includes blood pressure measurement, blood sample measurement, temperature measurement, ECG measurements, and data transmission based on RS232 standard; the another one is video-audio system on intelligent medical systems (This paper mainly studies the video function), which includes the research of using the SIP protocol to establish the video session and using H.264 to realize video codec based.To achieve video-audio function in IP network, the essential problem is the access control problem. Luckily, SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) with the function of session access controll has the ability to agree the requirtment of video-audio system. After analysis of SIP protocol, the paper studies how to use eXosip2 extension library developers to complete access control for video session. The progress includes the research of how to implement the message body, how to achieve eXosip initialized up to the proxy server to complete the registration and how to enable the process of listening thread to capture the signal of the session. Finaly the paper achieves the access between family-end and doctor-end. And the access mechanisms are summarized.Another important part of video-audio system is the video image compression. The video-audio system in intelligent medical terminal is used in real-time network. It requires video compression rate to save as much as possible while ensuring the video image has a good network adaptability and fidelity in the transmission. This paper discusses the feasibility of using H.264 encode-decode technology in video-audio system and researches using the current mature develop-package H.264 to achieve video compression. In addition, in order to complete implementation of the video-audio system, the paper also describes how to use DirectShow technology for video image capture.Finally, the paper applies software development VC++6.0 to program the software of intelligent medical termination in Windows platform. It achieves to acquisit, control and analyse the physiological parameters. And it programs the video-audio sub-system to realize remote video capabilities between home-end and doctor-end. Also, the reliability and stability of intelligent medical terminal system, the functions of physiological parameter acquisition systems and video-audio system are all tested and analyzed.
