Since the 90's of the last century, the growing popularity of motor vehicles makes people's lives more convenient, but it also brings many problems serious affecting many people's production and modern life.In order to effectively alleviate the intense pressure of the transportation, China's transport department introduces the concept of intelligent transportation, and prepares to take it to ground transportation management. At present, study of core technologies about intelligent traffic is focus on image recognition, traffic simulation, GPS/GIS navigation, traffic flow theory and other techniques. Applications of GPS navigation are mainly embodied in positioning and navigation, application of GPS vehicle monitoring system is gaining in popularity, especially in special vehicles, taxis and so on.This system proposed in this paper combines Spatial Database Technology, Web technology, GPS technology and become a vehicle management service platform specifically for small and medium enterprises. It becomes real-time communications link dispatch center and vehicles. Customers can access an electronic map provided by control center through the network and clearly observe position and status of the vehicle.In order to improve the reliability and validity of GPS data, the article explaines how to filter and correct the GPS data. The Google Maps' principles and techniques are studies in this article. An improved algorithm is proposed for the deviation problem caused by mismatch between GPS equipment and maps. Based on the requirements of some companies and in order to save server storage space purposes, the system can also filter the GPS data, retain key points, companies can acquaint the past paths of drivers.
