Que Daolong is not only a well-known editor, but also a great expert on editorial theory. In the prime of life, He had been an editor. When he was old, he started studying on the editing theory. He contributed all his life to the editing. In his 40 years of editing career, he planned and edited plenty of journals and books loved by young readers, including "Youth Abstract", "Youth Literature" and "Youth Library", etc. He laid the emphasis on the topic selection, paid even more attention to fulfill the culture mission when editing and objected to the pursue of economic benefits at the cost of culture value. He paid much attention to young readers' needs and made investigations into them, based on which he made the topic selection plan. Concerned about Chinese editing business, he Committed himself to research editorial theory when he was old, finished the first works on book editing.
