At present, the environmental protection question has already became an attracted much attention problem, along with the"pollution sources on-line automatic monitoring system data transmission standards"(HJ/T212-2005) was issued by the national environmental protection bureau in 2005-12-30, and implemented formally in 2006-02-01. Environmental protection bureau set a higher request to environment quality monitoring.In environmental monitoring system, the spots of environment monitoring were always dispersed with diversiform of geographical condition, and the most set in bad areas, it was inefficient and limited to connect the environment data through the manual transcribing or PSTN line. Aiming at these problems, we combinined the embedded technology, GPRS (Packet before have Service) wireless communication technology to make the job can be done using small size embedded data acquisition terminal to complete. Pollution monitoring equipment can promptly sent the collected data and alarm messages of pollution by GPRS networks to environmental monitoring department, which can manage the blowdown unit or individual timely, greatly improve the environmental protection department work efficiency.Firstly, the technical characteristics network realization and the key technology of GPRS and working principle were introduced, the data transfer protocol and method was analysed, and puts forward the structure of environmental monitoring system based on GPRS network. Secondly, the embedded system structure was detailed designed based on ARM micro controller and GTM900B module, and describe the main ARM chips STM32F103 and wireless transmission module GTM900B and peripheral circuit design in detail. It is realized by operating system,μC/OS-Ⅱscheduling user task is realized byμC/OS-Ⅱ, which is the operating system interrupt management's design feature. Thirdly, the software design based on embedded system was introduced.software data transmission structure and data communication protocol were detailed introduced, including monitoring software design and data collection system programming, and gives the software flow chart.Finally,the main work carried on for developing the environmental data acquisition transmission system based on GPRS is summarized, Moreover, the proposed further research work are also presented.
