The mainstream of society today is to build a socialist harmonious society. Building a socialist harmonious society is to achieve democracy and the rule of law, justice, sincerity, amity, vitality, stability and order, man and nature live in harmony overall objective. News media as the mass media in promoting and achieving this goal has a unique transmission on the edge, that the media as the mouthpiece of the party and the audience of opinion leaders, in addition to dissemination of information to demonstrate its constructive and times, also must have a "people first "philosophy, concern about the living condition of vulnerable groups and provide advice to the parties an equal exchange of media platforms. This "people first "philosophy in building a harmonious society, China's road construction on the well-being requires media workers have a strong sense of human care. Coverage of disaster should be fully highlighting the humane care. The reports on the disaster and humane care will do thorough research and definition. By comparing major disaster reports in the new century, I try to clarify disaster planning guidelines of news reports in three different periods. Of specific historical conditions and political background in China, analyze media performance of way of reporting, reporting content, concepts, as well as inheritance and late on the early changes. The analysis on the problem focuses on psychology, from the existing achievements and the remaining deficiencies to see the future direction of the development of media catastrophe coverage.
