Analysis And Designof Course Selection System Of Universities

With continuously deepening of university education reforms, the credit system is implemented in many universities stage by stage. The credit system is a method to acquire the necessary credits for all the students to graduate and acquire degree. In the credit system, the course selection system is the core scheme to increase the management quality where the real-time, security and loads balance are the key issues of the course selection system. Recent years, the university recruitment scale was continually extending, and the number of students increased. Furthermore, a lot of universities are conducting the reform of courses, which will cause more management workloads. However, an online course selection system may let all the students select their courses anywhere and anytime. Thus, this system will greatly improve the efficiency and quality of the university administration. Therefore, it is necessary for the universities to apply modern information technology to create an equal, efficient, and scientific platform, which is compatible with course selection system.This paper analyses the background of the courses selection system under the credit system, and discusses that it is necessary and important to develop a new system. In addition, the paper introduces the key means of online course selection. Via the preliminary theory of course selection, i.e., operating relationship and constraint relationship, this paper summaries the Web technology and the architecture to implement the system. Furthermore, the detailed requirements analysis is conducted in this paper as well as the system design and database design. Moreover, this paper proposes a package of course selection and credit management scheme,. Finally, by analyzing the function of this system and the development trend of course selection system, the paper points out future work.
