Nowadays, information technology is developing rapidly. Converged network is becoming one of the most active and most creative technical areas among them. The integration of the network extends the original telecom service in both category and intension. And the new characteristic, which is heterogenous network intelligent cooperation and resource sharing, will provide more converged service to satisfy diverse requirements. However, current telecom service is unable to describe telecom network's service ability precisely because of lack domain ontology. Simply rely on web service couldn't satisfy user experience oriented characteristic in converged network. Thus, researchers turn to semantic web service. Semantic UDDI is a functional entity in semantic web service environement, which provides the ability of service registration, service discovery and services selecting. The semantic service and customer requirements are defined by OWL-S language, which requires processing of semantic information during service. The process will increase the response time and lower down the performance of semantic UDDI. Therefore, how to minize the performance downgrade during implementation of semantic UDDI is a hot topic.In this article, research background, research content and organization will be described in charpter 1. In charpter 2, web service, semantic web service, semantic UDDI and OWL-S will be introduced. Charpter 3 will analyze the requirement of semantic UDDI in converged network. The design and implementation of key module for semantic UDDI will be discussed in charpter 4. Charpter 5 will discuss how to optimize the service discovery ability of semantic UDDI and give a deep dive in how to decrease the service discovery time while keep the accuracy of service discovery. Charpter 6 will show the test result for the optimized semantic UDDI and validate what are described in this article.
