Chassis-based Custom Web NMS Platform

With the development of technology and the popularity of Internet applications and the extending of network scale, network structure became more and more complex. An emerging problem is how to guarantee the network devices work safely, reliably, and efficiently. For various network devices and their software, a good network management software can provide effective supervision, explanation and control. Therefore, network management is a very important issue of the research of computer network technologies.By using Web NMS framework to implement network management software of panel customization, and a combination of AJAX technology. The NMS include the discovery of network devices, topology management, alarm management, performance analysis, client customization, and report printing. The NMS through the Web NMS discovery engine to discover network devices that filter through the management objects added to the database, real-time display by Chassis status of network devices. By adopting the AJAX technology in the design of Web pages, the user experience is improved effectively. The software is easy to use and extend.This paper introduces the Web NMS platform, the overall structure and management of Web NMS platform support agreement, focusing on the SNMP protocol and related theory; then introduces several major features of the software subsystems and each subsystem is discussed in detail the design and to achieve.The author also introduces the testing of the network management software and makes a summary based on those discussions. Some future improvement is proposed at the end of this paper.
