Triple play has been officially put on agenda. Providing converged services based on convergent networks is an urgent task. Parlay X Gate Way is proposed under this background of service environment in the network. Parlay X Gate Way is also called PXGW. The propose of PXGW is to solve the problem that how to provide the network capability of the type of session service to the call of application services.This paper introduces the project background of PXGW system firstly. And it also talks about the current network environment, SIP protocol, Parlay/OSA, Parlay X and web service technology. The above technologies are been introduced and analyzed in this paper.And then, this paper analyzes the definition of Parlay X Web Service in specifications and the system requirements for this project. The system requirements are been refined from two aspects. One is functional requirement, the other is non-functional requirement. Among then, functional requirement include the necessary functions and the external interface. Non-functional requirement relate to the system reliability principle.After the determining of system requirement, this paper fufill the overall design of PXGW and the interface definitions under the principles of layer design and module independence. Also, there are several typical processes to describe the basic working mechanism of the system. In addition, based on the special nature of the environment, the paper also describes the design of the multi-thread model of PXGW.The Web Service Module is the main module of PXGW. PXGW release the capability of Parlay X API by this module. This is realized by the servlet container action of Tomcat server. Through the cooperation of Axis and Tomcat, the system fulfills the request message of sending and receiving, and the adaptation work.Service logic module is the core module and provides core function of PXGW. It realizes the capabilities of Parlay X API. This paper designs the structural of the module. And then based on the basic processes of the third-party call and short message, it designs a set of states, which can be put together into a whole state machine to fulfill the specific API call. This paper also describes some of the system run-time datus which the system concerns. At the appropriate time, PXGW will save this information into database. The information is about the third-party call and shortmessge, such as some users's datus.When we finish the design and implementation of the system, we are to do the testing work for the development work of the prototype system. This paper is from three aspects to do this testing work, and get the result. They are test environment, test cases and the analyzation of the result. Through testing of right and wrong messages receiving, we confirm the feasibility and reliability of PXGW. Finally, this paper gives out the summarization of the author's work during the whole work about this paper, and how the work to be done in the future.
