With the developement of users'needs, traditional ways of broadband access with "copper wire" as the representative can't satisfy the high bandwidth and multi-service delivery requirements any longer, which becomes the "bottleneck" of network development. In this context, passive optical network technology represented by GPON will become the main trend of technology option for future broadband access. Besides, network integration represents the development direction of future communication technology, especially in China, which has deployed CNGI network and TD-SCDMA network in a large scale. Thus, it becomes a problem which needs solving urgently for the developement of community industry to realize the cooperation with GPON network fixed at the side of network access to bear new services and make the network integration realized. Based on this backgroud, this thesis researches on GPON system with network integration as the base and its application, including home network integration, GPON system bearing TD-SCDMA base station, etc,. Main contents of this thesis are as follows:First, it introduces research background and development status and trend of passive optical network, to draw forth research thoughts and contents of this thesis. Besides, it makes research and analysis in detail on GPON technology, starting from system structure, standard and protocol stack, key technologies and others to explain technical advantages of GPON system from basic principles, including bandwidth, QoS, protection, OAM, multi-service delivery, etc.. Second, it mainly studies services under the home network environment adopting GPON access technology and network integration to develop new services and to realize end-to-end IPv6 and the integration of fixed and mobile, which has carried out network pilots in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Nanjing to verify the application of the whole system.In the context that TD-SCDMA network has been deployed in a large scale in China, as one of methods of FMC, FemtoCell has attracted high attention. This thesis proposes to use GPON technology to bear TD-FemtoCell service and carries out research and analysis from bandwidth, multi-service support, security and protection, synchronization and other respectives, and provides solutions for time synchronization for GPON system, making tests on synchronization function of GPON facilities to draw a conclusion that GPON system has the ability to deliver TD-FemtoCell.
