Recently, along with the IT development, data center's scale unceasing expansion, data center management is getting more and more complex, and the management of data center facilities is facing many kinds of challenges and problems. The main problems are shown as following:it is hard to manage the data center because of the divided management pattern; the data center energy consumption grows sharply; the usage of data center resources is low; the cooling expense of data center is oversized. In order to solve the delicate problems in the traditional data center, this subject presents a 3D data center management system.This system is an intelligent platform for data center management, and it provides many management operations for the data center. The system contains these features:it provides a 3D based virtual scenario for better user experience; it contains many integrated management operations which can help to improve management efficiency; it can discover the operational problems with the real-time monitoring; it also provides a variety of advanced statistical reports for analysis and decision support. This system is an advanced, highly visual, integrated data center management tool to achieve the automated and semi-automated management of data center. What is more, it plays an important role for the construction of an efficient and energy-efficient green data center.This paper describes the design and implementation of 3D data center facility management system. First of all, the subject background and data center related concepts are introduced; the status of data center management and the practical value of this subject are also discussed. Then, the requirement analysis is described using the object-oriented analysis and design method. In the system design part, the system architecture design, interface design, database design and interface design are described. The key technologies, some functions'realizations, some important interfaces, some key codes and the solutions of core problems are explained in the implementation part. Finally, the introduction of the system test, system deployment, a summary and the future work are given.
