LTE as a "4G" technology for broadband wireless access system,is researched and develop to compete with WIMAX for the market share in the trend of "broadband of mobile communication",putting forward higher request for the data transmisson rate,not only for the physical layer,but also for the physical layer interface,so it is requsted that the design of API is efficient.API is the interface between MAC and PHY,which handles the MTP (Message Transmission Protocol, MTP)messages and control the PHY layer,so the high efficient and completeness of the MAC/PHY API(Application Program Interface, API) design will affect the efficiency and correctness of the PHY processing.In this paper,API designed and implemented based on multicore hardware PC203.Firstly,it analyzed the function of MAC and physical layer interaction,given the design of the hardware structure diagram and the basic structure and meaning of MAC messages.secondly,given the API block diagram of the hardware design and detailed the processes and the port setting of each module.And it introduced the messages of MAC,mainly researched on the processing method for API to handle the MTP messages and presentes the exception handling of the MTP messages,studying the scheduling process of physical layer of API,including the cellsetup message and the up/down link scheduling.Moreover,it analyzed the difference between TDD and FDD API,also between single antenna and multi-antannas.Finally,it introduced the picochip debugging tools and testing method,and the result showed the design of API could run efficently and correctly under the condition of TDD/FDD and multi-antennas LTE.The further research work of API is based on the bandwidth and rate demand,and the improvements of system design complexity.
