Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless communication technology and the IEEE 802.11n high-speed wireless local area network technology standards are the latest developments of short-range wireless communications in recent years. Study on the electromagnetic compatibility between these two systems is a hot topic currently. This thesis is based on the projects of National Natural Science Foundation and Important National Science and Technology Specific Projects, with significant theoretical and practical meaning. In this thesis, based on the in-depth analysis of the principles of ultra wideband and IEEE 802.11n systems, the method of physical layer modeling is used to study the UWB impact on IEEE 802.11n system. According to the physical characteristics of UWB and the victim system, physical layer models are set up. In accordance with the requirements of bit error rate (BER) and receiver sensitivity of IEEE 802.11n, we obtain the emission limits of UWB in the operating frequency band (5.18~5.805GHz) of 802.11n. Compared with the traditional interference to noise ratio (I/N) criteria of the link budget analysis method, this physical layer model method better reflects the actual situation of electromagnetic compatibility, and can be an effective solution of the coexistence of UWB and IEEE 802.11n system. Moreover, a preliminary analysis on the interference of IEEE 802.11n narrow-band radio signal on UWB system is carried on. Based on the characteristics of UWB channel, the outage probability of UWB system is studied with one or more IEEE 802.11n interferers. The results of this thesis are of high reference value to frequency planning of ultra wideband wireless communication system and wireless local area networks and other short-range wireless technologies.
